1
cup

(Notes: about 140 g)
1/2
cup
pineapple chunks
(Notes: fresh or frozen)
1
cup
coconut milk
(Notes: full-fat carton or canned diluted with a little water for blending)
1
tsp
ground turmeric
(Notes: or 1 cm fresh turmeric root, peeled)
1
tsp
grated fresh ginger
(Notes: adjust to taste)
2
tbsp
Manuka honey
(Notes: UMF 15+ recommended; drizzle and sweeten to taste)
1
tbsp
chia seeds
(Notes: optional thickener and added fibre)
1
tbsp
fresh lemon juice
(Notes: brightens the flavours)
1
handful
ice cubes
(Notes: add for extra chill if fruit isn't frozen)

Instructions

Step 1
Add the frozen banana, frozen mango, pineapple chunks and coconut milk to a high‑speed blender.
Tip: Using frozen fruit gives a smoothie bowl texture; fresh fruit works too but add more ice.
Timing: PT30S
Step 2
Add ground turmeric, grated ginger, lemon juice and chia seeds into the blender. Secure the lid and blend on high until smooth and creamy.
Tip: If the blender stalls, stop and scrape down the sides, then add a little extra coconut milk.
Timing: PT1M30S
Step 3
Add Manuka honey and ice (if using) and pulse to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice—add a little more Manuka honey or a pinch more turmeric if desired.
Tip: Start with 2 tbsp of Manuka and increase by 1 tsp increments to avoid over‑sweetening.
Timing: PT30S
Step 4
Pour into two glasses or bowls. Finish with a drizzle of extra Manuka honey, a sprinkle of chia seeds and toasted coconut or sliced banana for texture.
Tip: Serve immediately for the best texture and flavour.
Step 5
Store any leftover smoothie in an airtight jar in the fridge and consume within 24 hours. Stir or reblend briefly before drinking.
Tip: Separation is normal — shake or reblend to recombine.
