Ingredients

1
cup
frozen mango chunks
(Notes: about 150 g)
1
ripe banana
(Notes: frozen or fresh for extra creaminess)
1
cup
unsweetened oat milk
(Notes: or any plant milk)
1
tbsp
Manuka honey
(Notes: MGO 400+/UMF 15+ recommended for flavour and bioactivity)
1/2
tsp
ground turmeric
(Notes: or 1 tsp fresh grated turmeric)
1
tsp
fresh grated ginger
(Notes: adjust to taste)
2
tbsp
plain Greek yoghurt or kefir
(Notes: adds protein and probiotics; use dairy-free yoghurt for vegan option)
1
tbsp
chia seeds
(Notes: optional, for extra fibre and texture)
to preference
ice cubes
(Notes: optional if using fresh mango)

Instructions

Step 1
Add the oat milk and Greek yoghurt (or kefir) to the blender first to help with blending, then drop in the banana.
Tip: Start with liquids to make blending easier and to protect your blender blades.
Step 2
Add frozen mango, turmeric, grated ginger and chia seeds. Drizzle in the Manuka honey last so it disperses evenly.
Tip: If using fresh turmeric, peel and finely grate to avoid fibrous bits.
Timing: PT1M
Step 3
Blend on high until smooth and creamy, pausing to scrape down the sides once if needed. Add a splash more oat milk if too thick.
Tip: Pulse first to break up large frozen pieces, then blend continuously for a silky texture.
Timing: PT30S
Step 4
Taste and adjust: add a little more Manuka honey for sweetness or extra milk for a thinner consistency. Blend briefly to combine any additions.
Tip: Manuka honey adds distinct flavour; add in small increments to avoid over-sweetening.
Step 5
Pour into two glasses, garnish with a light dusting of turmeric or a sprinkle of chia seeds and a tiny drizzle of Manuka honey on top. Serve immediately.
Tip: Serve straight away — if stored, separate layers will form; shake or re-blend before drinking.
